Endorsements Start to Roll In

This past week, we are proud to announce that our campaign has received two organizational endorsements:

The Columbia Democratic Club, Howard County’s largest and oldest Democratic organization, overwhelmingly endorsed me to be the Democratic nominee for Register of Wills. I have been an active, longtime member of the club, and am humbled to have the club’s support.

The Stonewall Democrats of Central Maryland, an LGBT Democratic organization, also endorsed me. The Stonewall Democrats base their endorsement on a commitment to equality for all Marylanders, and I am proud to count on their support as well.

Opponents File, Field Comes Into Focus

Earlier this week, the incumbent Republican and another Democrat filed to run for Register. I have enormous respect for the incumbent and her many years of service. However, I have been talking to Howard County residents day in and day out for over a year about what this office does and what it can and should do for them. As I have been to every corner of the county and met with voters as diverse as Howard County itself, the overwhelming refrain is that they are ready for change. I intend to continue taking our message to the voters in the next 10 weeks into the primary, and less than two months after that to the general election.

I’m proud to have the endorsement of the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund in this race, which is a national organization that enthusiastically and meaningfully supports openly gay candidates for office. In addition, two former Democratic Party chairs along with many of our state legislators and county officials have been encouraging and supportive of our campaign. This coalition is strong, growing, and I hope prove a great success for our entire Howard County community.
