Rule of Law Revolution

Legislative Candidate’s Pledge

1. I pledge allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America, to the sovereign Republic established thereby, and to the just and equitable Rule of Law thereunder. I affirm for the People all the liberties guaranteed therein; for the People and the States, all the powers reserved thereby; and for the Federal Government, all the limitations guaranteed therein.

2. I admit and affirm that the powers of the office I am seeking, and of the legislative body in which that office resides, are strictly limited to those authorized by the Constitution or Charter that established the office.*

3. I pledge that if I am elected, I will not act outside the limited powers of the office, even if the Executive or Judicial branches, or the people themselves, or any interest, whether foreign or domestic, should insist that I can or should do so. I will obey the Constitution or Charter that created my office, and not the rule of popular opinion. Should that Constitution or Charter prove inadequate or unjust, I will work to amend it lawfully as needed, but shall obey it strictly until it is lawfully changed.

4. I pledge to make the fullest lawful use of the “checks and balances” powers of the office I am seeking, as set forth in the Constitution or Charter, in order to see to it that the rest of the government is also held strictly accountable to the Rule of Law. If I am vested with powers of confirmation, I will confirm only such candidates for appointment as genuinely share the spirit of this pledge. If I am vested with powers of impeachment, trial of impeachment, censure, or punishment or expulsion of other members of the body in which I serve, I will aggressively endeavor to use these powers to oppose all those whom I find to be in bad behavior while in office, voting solely on the basis of the law, and without prejudice or partiality. If I am vested with investigative powers, I shall endeavor to use them to the fullest possible effect in routing out governmental disobedience to the Constitution or Charter.
5. I pledge that I will never vote in favor of a law that I have not first read in its entirety.

6. I affirm that I have read the U.S. Constitution at least once in its entirety in the last year. If the office I am seeking is in State government, I affirm that I have also read my State’s Constitution at least once in its entirety in the last year, as well as the U.S. Constitution. If the office I am seeking is in the county or city government, I pledge that I have read the Charter of that government at least once in its entirety in the last year, as well as the U.S. Constitution and my State’s Constitution.

For any elected official of a county, parish, city, town, or township, the founding charter is the generally called a charter.) FREDERICK ─ “I enthusiastically enter the race as a U.S. Senator from Maryland. I am an American Constitutionalist running as a Republican.” said Stephens Dempsey from Carterque in Mt. Airy today.

“Just as Lincoln ran to abolish human slavery, I run to free Marylanders from Federal enslavement, which wildly threatens their social and economic rights. I plan to bring accountability to government; expose political correctness, unshackle our state economy, and improve our standard of living.”

All politicians can accomplish these goals by realigning their agendas within the U.S. Constitutional framework. Operating outside the Framers’ intent will weaken our free republic and the two-party system.”

Dempsey continues, “I intend to restore open debate supporting understandable legislation. I’ll seek to shrink smothering forms of taxation and to reduce mandates for states and employers. We will better leverage our natural resources for superior economic and environmental gains. I’ll thwart the manifold ways liberal agendas devalue our families.

We need to look inward for our resolve, and less toward the Federal government. We can better energize citizen initiative, raise personal responsibility higher and inspire community service, further.”
